Drink More Water

How much water do you drink in one day? ...a glass here and there? Are you one of those people that feel like water just doesn't get you through the day? Maybe a soda or energy drink is what always finds a place on your desk.

Listen. Things need to change!

Water should be your #1 choice of a beverage throughout the day. Water is a topic of interest because it is so important for the health of our bodies. It takes up about two-thirds of our bodies!

The benefits of drinking water are endless. Some of them include:

  • It boosts your metabolism.

  • Makes you feel less tired because drinking water gives you more energy.

  • Water ensures your digestions is moving, preventing constipation.

  • Lowers your chances of getting bladder cancer! The more water you drink, the more times you need to urinate, meaning, less build-up of bacteria in your bladder!

  • Water keeps your joints and cartilage moving as they should.

  • Also, the kidneys remove waste from your body, control blood pressure, and balance fluids. The more water you drink, the smoother your kidneys function.

  • Water even acts as an aid in weight loss. Makes you feel full, decreasing cravings.

Drinking water fights fatigue and dehydration. Dehydration causes several negative side effects to your body. Even mild dehydration can negatively impact your mind. Drinking water overall improves your state of mind to keep you happier. For some people, going too long without drinking water gives you a headache, which could turn into a migraine. Headaches are another sign of dehydration. Dehydration also causes your brain tissue to shrink. When you don’t drink enough water your brain has to work extra hard to do what it’s supposed to.

Water is good all around! Taking a warm bath triggers a hormone called oxytocin which makes us feel relaxed. Not only is water good for the body, but it is good for the mind, too. If you don’t care for drinking water, there are other ways to get water into your body. One way is replacing soda with seltzer water! Also, fruits and vegetables, such as cucumbers, watermelon, and strawberries all carry vital vitamins and nutrients as well as lots of water. Fruits and vegetables are actually healthier for you than just drinking water because you get so much of what you need just by eating, for example, an apple.

Below there is an image to help you decipher how much water you should be drinking every day, who knows, maybe drinking the sufficient amount of water every day IS the answer!
