The Benefits of Clean Eating
Do you consider yourself to be a fairly healthy individual? When you’re at your day-to-day job do you ever experience headaches, low energy, brain fog or achy joints and muscles? Nothing about feeling this way is normal, and it probably has everything to do with what you are eating. What you eat revolves around everything else that’s going on in your body! Here are some of the latest tips on “...eating healthier and feeling better.”
To start your clean eating process you want to have a diet that’s high in cleansing foods. Cleansing foods replace the junk food you might be eating. Saying no to foods like chips and cookies and swapping them out with foods such as, avocados, cranberries, grapefruit, blueberries, and/or lemons. Making these small changes will help to increase the amount of nutrient-rich foods being put into your body.
Clean eating is a diet of whole foods; foods that haven’t been altered or changed in a manufacturing plant. If the food your buying is something that has a label on it, that means there is more in that product than you think. “If you cannot pronounce an ingredient on a label, don’t put that food in your shopping basket!” Look for as many fruits and vegetables as you can.
You should always have the mentality of, “farm-to-table.” If there are several other steps that have to occur in order to get that food to your table then the odds of it being a whole food is slim.
Steer clear of processed foods, such as microwaveable meals. Prepare/cook your own meals to ensure you know exactly what you are putting into your body! You want to prepare enough meals so you can eat five to six times a day. You might think this sounds excessive but here’s why: there is less time spent on craving junk food because you’re eating multiple times throughout the day, and the more you eat during the day, the faster your metabolism is!
As long as you stick to the plan on cleansing foods, whole foods, fresh produce and lots of water, your diet will be squeaky clean.
